How much does stump grinding cost?
Transparent Stump Grinding Pricing.
How Pricing Works.

Stump diameter.
The larger the stump, the longer the job takes and the more wear and tear the equipment undergoes. This directly affects the cost of the service. To avoid any misunderstandings, please review how we measure stumps: the diameter of the cut itself does not matter; what counts is how wide the root system has spread.

Stump height.
The tree either fell or was removed by arborists. Our equipment is not designed to handle excessively tall stumps. If the stump is taller than 1.5 feet, an additional stump-trimming service may be required. Please be prepared for the stump removal cost to increase by $100–$200.
Wood hardness.
Hardwood requires more powerful equipment. Delivery and maintenance are more expensive, so the cost varies.
Depth of grind.
The standard service includes grinding the above-ground and underground portions of the stump to a depth of up to 12 inches. Sometimes we are asked to remove only the above-ground portion; this involves less work, so the cost is lower.
Access (fences, slopes, rocks, tight spaces)
To grind a stump quickly and effectively, we require a passageway width of 50 inches and a 90-degree angle of access. Anything that hinders the work affects the speed and, consequently, the cost.
Number of stumps.
The specific cost of stump grinding is calculated based on a "one address, one stump" model. However, when there are multiple stumps at a single location, we save time and travel costs, allowing us to lower the price per stump.
Here’s a tip: team up with your neighbors. Costs can drop by up to 50% if there are multiple orders on the same street. We sometimes announce our service locations and dates to our WhatsApp and Facebook followers; you can join an existing order to save money.
Another way to get a discount is to book us while you see us working in your area.

Cleanup options (chips removed or left as mulch).
The removal of mulch and stump debris is not included in the base service price. Hauling away this waste requires specialized equipment and incurs disposal fees, which significantly increases the cost of the service. We tidy up the site as much as possible.

Can the cost change?
- We adjust our prices annually. If the estimate was provided last year, the cost may change.
- If the estimate was based on a photograph, an on-site inspection might reveal new factors that affect the price.
- The cost may change if you convince a neighbor to have a stump removed on the same day and we have an opening in our schedule to accommodate it.
